Stephen hails from the Great White North and currently lives in Brooklyn. He acts, writes & directs. He appears opposite Bryan Cranston in the feature Cold Comes The Nightdirected by Tze Chun. Stephen is producing the feature-length comedy Birth Control and can be seen in this Volkswagen commercial

Stephen appears in Doormana film by Etienne Kallos, that screened at The Sundance Film Festival and at The Cannes Film Festival. He's Oliver in The Naturalist, a film by Connor Hurley, which world premiered at the Seattle Film Festival and has subsequently screened internationally and at The Brooklyn Film Festival, Palm Springs International Short Film Festival and Frameline in San Francisco.

Other work includes an epsiode of Jason Ritter's short-lived, pre-cancelled sitcom Us & Them, an alcoholic clown named Bink in the Price Brothers' experimental Les Saltimbanques and he can be seen blowing his brains out in Andrés Torres & Ugur Becer's yet-to-be-titled thriller. He pops up in Annalisa Vozza's award-winning AlexSharon Barnes' Fighter and he was a lanky 'creature' jumping over a cab in I Am Legend, starring Will Smith. For this role, Stephen was trapped inside a unitard glued on by a white, oatmeal-like paste.

The Bone, a short film he wrote and directed, screened at New York City's Landmark Sunshine Cinema as part of NY Shorts Fest. Stand Sentry, his first short, screened in London at The Portobello Film Festival and at The Strasbourg International Film Festival where it was nominated for several awards, including Best Short. 

On stage, Stephen has appeared as Matt of the Mint and sang 'The Ballad of Mack The Knife' in Marvell Rep's The Threepenny Opera. The production was nominated for Best Revival of a Musical at the 2012 Drama Desk Awards. Other theatre credits include: Antony & Cleopatra (Hartford Stage, dir. Tina Landau), The Money Show (HERE Arts Center), Fred Sauter & Paul Leschen's BEDBUGS!!! (NYMF & various concert versions), Matthew-Lee Erlbach's Happy Sunshine Kung Fu Flower (Ars Nova & The Zipper Factory).  He's also been directed by Tony-nominee and Olivier Award-winner Eve Best in workshops of As You Like It, Twelfth Night and A Midsummer Night's Dream.

In Toronto, Stephen appeared in The Rocky Horror Show as Bradas Alferd Packer in Trey Parker & Matt Stone's Cannibal! The Musical and in the Aussie comedy He Died With A Felafel In His Hand. He wrote and acted in the award-winning Back To Mine and originated the role of Sam in Jason Hall's award-winning and internationally produced GBS.

He studied acting in New York City at Circle In The Square Theatre School and is an alumnus of Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada where he studied as a Chancellor's Scholar.
